Amanda Strong

Amanda Strong is a young multi-disciplined artist who has discovered film-making as an effective way to unify her various talents in photography, illustration and conceptualization.

In their own words (transcript)

I go by feelings. I’m a very intuitive and emotional person, so if it doesn’t feel emotionally empowering or powerful, I don’t feel it fits. And I think that’s what I try to get across, is something that will evoke people to feel something. Amanda Strong

It is very hard for me to show my work in ways because I’m very personally attached to what I create and in respect to that, it usually has relevance to something I’ve gone through.

I still feel very attached to dark imagery, and just the beautiful elements of something darker. I like to find inspiration from other things now, like just what’s around me, simple things that people do, or nature. I really cherish the relationships that I have in my life, and I feel that’s very charismatic to my work lately.

For me, I think it’s all about being honest with yourself, breaking yourself down to understand what you really feel, and separating yourself from the exterior influences that would block you from creating, that make you feel insecure, to break all those barriers to just find what’s really within.
