In their own words (transcript)

Cheryl L'Hirondelle
I trust my dreams. I dream a lot, and my dreams give me ideas or else help clarify and shape things. I also trust the worldview that I have been given. I am grateful to my mother and my mothers people for that worldview, nêhiyawin, the Cree worldview. Before I was cognizant and had really done research and learned more about it and spent more time in the bush and started learning the language and going to ceremonies, it was in my DNA; it was there. But over the years I have learned that that is part of the rigour of being an artist, is to get rooted to that. And the deeper I get rooted in that, then I’m very grounded.
