Michael Greyeyes is an actor, dancer, choreographer and director originally from Muskeg Lake First Nation in Saskatchewan, Canada.

If you look at my work, I think you will see that dance is the core of everything that I have done and everything that I am, really. 
If you think about ballet; I liken it to Latin. I am not saying that ballet is a dead language, but Latin is the base of so many other things. It is the base for all the romance languages: French, Italian, so ballet is very similar. It requires such a level of concentration, discipline, skill, body awareness, that really allows you, if you have survived the fires of it, to really do a lot of other things. The sense of rigor and discipline that this kind of dancing gave me is the backbone by which I approach all the other work that I do as an actor, as a director, and of course, certainly, as a choreographer.
