Toonoo Sharky’s skills as a stone carver are only surpassed by his capacity to imagine. His unique themes incorporate legend, wildlife and transformational beings to list a few. Toonoo’s work is widely exhibited, collected and recognized as a bright new direction for Inuit art. 
Sometimes I follow the shape of the stone and when it’s almost round or square I have to think about what it’s going to be.
I really love being a carver but sometimes it’s kind of hard, especially today, and that’s the only job I have. It is very important that I’m sharing with the family and to the community too.
